Register for A2P 10DLC to send SMS reliably
Register your brand and SMS campaign for A2P 10DLC so US carriers deliver your texts reliably.
US carriers require every business that texts contacts to register its brand and SMS campaign under a standard called A2P 10DLC. Until you complete registration, messages from your numbers are filtered or blocked, so this is the first step before relying on SMS in SAMI OS.
Why registration is required
A2P 10DLC ("application-to-person, 10-digit long code") is how carriers verify who is sending business texts. Registration has two parts: a brand, which confirms your business identity, and a campaign, which describes the kinds of messages you send and how contacts consent to receive them. Both must be approved before your texts deliver at full speed.
Only organization owners can manage SMS compliance. If you don't see the registration screen, ask your account owner to complete this from Settings → SMS compliance.
Register your brand and campaign
SAMI OS walks you through brand and campaign details in one guided flow. It saves your campaign details while the brand is under review, then submits the campaign automatically once the brand is approved.
Open SMS compliance
Go to Settings → SMS compliance and select Begin A2P process.
Choose Express or Advanced setup
Pick Express setup to upload a personal headshot and let SAMI generate a compliant opt-in landing page and campaign details for you to review. Or pick Advanced setup to enter every brand and campaign field manually.
Enter your business details
On the Register your business form, fill in your legal business name, business type, EIN (tax ID), website URL, address, and an authorized representative (name, job position, email, and phone). These details are shared with Twilio and US carriers, so match the exact name and EIN on your tax documents. Select Save business details.
Review the campaign details
Complete the Campaign details form: a campaign description, two sample messages, the message flow describing how end users consent, your opt-in message, and your privacy policy and terms & conditions URLs. Each field has a Use example button for guidance — edit the highlighted example text before saving, since copying it can cause rejection. With Express setup, SAMI pre-fills these from your landing page.
Submit for review
Select Submit campaign for review. SAMI OS submits the campaign as soon as your brand is approved, then tracks status updates on this screen.
Add a real privacy policy and terms & conditions page to your website before you register — carriers check that both URLs are live and describe SMS consent.
Read the brand and campaign status
The A2P registration panel shows a Brand status card and a Campaign status card that update on their own as carriers review your submission.
- Approved (brand) and Verified (campaign) mean registration is complete and your texts can use the approved campaign.
- Pending or In review means carriers are still reviewing — no action is needed.
- Action required (shown as a failed or rejected state) means you need to fix something. The Twilio rejection reason appears in a banner on the registration panel, often with a "Click here to understand your rejection reason" link; update the saved details and resubmit.
Once your campaign is Verified, assign a registered number to start texting from Messages, and watch outbound delivery on each conversation.
