Connect an app to SAMI OS

Connect a Composio-backed app like HubSpot, Slack, or Calendly to SAMI OS from inside the workflow builder.

Most outside apps — like HubSpot, Slack, or Calendly — need a one-time connection before SAMI OS can run their actions or triggers. You make that connection right inside the workflow builder, no trip to Settings required.

Before you connect

SAMI OS connects apps through Composio, which handles the secure login on your behalf. A connection is personal to your user — the account you connect runs the action as you, so a teammate building a step picks their own account, not yours.

A few apps don't need a connection at all. Toolkits with a "none" policy — such as the code interpreter and Gemini — are hosted capabilities, so SAMI OS uses them without asking you to authorize anything. Everything else is a user-connected app: you sign in once and SAMI OS saves the result as a connected account.

SAMI OS itself is always connected — its native CRM, messaging, and AI steps need no setup. Only outside apps from the catalog require a connected account.

Connect an app from the builder

Open a workflow from Workflows and add the step or trigger that uses the app you want.

  1. Pick the app and action

Add a step, choose your app from the connector catalog, then select the action or trigger you need. The step panel opens on the right with the app shown at the top.

  2. Launch the connect link

Under Account, click Log in to [app]. SAMI OS generates a secure connect link for your user and opens the provider's authorization page.

  3. Authorize in the provider

Sign in to the app and approve the access SAMI OS is requesting. This happens entirely on the provider's site — your password is never shared with SAMI OS.

  4. Return to your workflow

After you approve, the provider sends you straight back to the same workflow. SAMI OS records the connection and selects it automatically when it's your only account for that app.

  5. Confirm the account is selected

Check that the right account is chosen under Account. The action runs as that account, so the correct records get created or updated. Once it's set, the Fields to fill section unlocks.

If you connect more than one account for the same app — say two HubSpot logins — pick the correct one from the Account list on each step so data lands in the right workspace.

What SAMI OS saves

When the connection succeeds, SAMI OS stores it as a connected account tied to your user and organization. Each one keeps:

  • Status — whether the account is active or has expired and needs reconnecting.
  • Label — a friendly name from the provider, or one built from the app and a masked account ID.
  • Provider email — the email on the account you authorized, so you can tell two logins apart at a glance.

You can review every connection you've made, see its status, and remove ones you no longer use from your connected accounts. If a connection lapses, SAMI OS flags the step and the app reconnect guide walks you through restoring it. To add more app steps to your automation, head back to the Workflows builder.
