Log SAMI activity to Follow Up Boss
Connect Follow Up Boss and choose which SAMI calls, texts, notes, tags, and answered transfers write to the matching person.
Follow Up Boss can stay alongside SAMI OS while SAMI's activity is copied to the matching person record. This connection logs activity that already happened in SAMI; it does not send a second text or create a new Follow Up Boss person.
SAMI OS stores the connection, saved key, and switches for your organization. The Follow Up Boss API key itself belongs to the Follow Up Boss user who created it and inherits that user's access to people. Lofty and Follow Up Boss can both be connected, and each provider keeps its own key and switches; disconnecting or troubleshooting one does not change the other.
Connect Follow Up Boss
Open external CRM logging
Go to Settings → Integrations and select SAMI external CRM logging.
Select Follow Up Boss
Choose the Follow Up Boss tile. Lofty can remain connected at the same time; each provider has its own key and switches.
Create and save an API key
In Follow Up Boss, create an API key from a user with permission to view and update the people SAMI should log. Paste that value into Follow Up Boss API key, then select Save key. SAMI OS shows only the last four characters after saving.
Choose what SAMI logs
Leave all five switches on, or turn off only the activity types you do not want written to Follow Up Boss. Each switch saves immediately for Follow Up Boss without changing Lofty.
What each switch controls
- Log SAMI calls in Follow Up Boss records eligible inbound and outbound SAMI calls with their numbers, duration, and SAMI note.
- Log SAMI SMS messages in Follow Up Boss records eligible inbound and outbound SAMI texts. It does not send another message.
- Log SAMI notes in Follow Up Boss copies notes created by SAMI's system actions, not notes typed by a team member.
- Log SAMI tags in Follow Up Boss adds a newly applied SAMI tag without replacing existing Follow Up Boss tags.
- Assign Follow Up Boss lead to answering agent after answered transfer finds the answering agent by their SAMI OS email and assigns the person after a successful answered transfer.
How records are matched
SAMI removes punctuation and the leading US country code from the contact phone, then searches Follow Up Boss with the resulting ten digits. If no person has that phone, SAMI skips the external write and does not create a person.
For answered transfers, the answering user's SAMI OS email must exactly match an active Follow Up Boss user email, ignoring capitalization. A missing user match skips only the assignment.
Keep the same phone on the SAMI OS contact and Follow Up Boss person, and keep team email addresses aligned in both systems.
Disconnect Follow Up Boss
Select the Follow Up Boss tile and choose Disconnect. SAMI clears only the saved Follow Up Boss key and remembers its switch choices. Lofty remains connected and continues logging when configured.
