Register for SMS compliance (A2P 10DLC)

Complete A2P 10DLC brand and campaign registration so your SAMI OS text messages deliver reliably to US carriers.

US carriers require every business to register its brand and SMS campaign before texts deliver reliably. The SMS compliance page walks you through A2P 10DLC registration in one guided flow, then shows your live brand and campaign status.

Choose Express or Advanced setup

When you select Begin A2P process, SAMI offers two ways to register.

  • Express setup — Upload a personal headshot and let SAMI create the opt-in landing page and generate your campaign details for review. This is the fastest path for most agents.
  • Advanced setup — Continue with the full manual brand and campaign registration workflow, writing your own campaign description, sample messages, and consent flow.

A2P registration is an owner/admin task and applies to your whole workspace. Finish it before you start sending texts from your phone numbers so messages aren't filtered by carriers.

Submit your business and campaign details

  1. Open SMS compliance

Go to Settings → SMS compliance and select Begin A2P process, then pick Express or Advanced setup.

  2. Register your business

Enter your legal business name, business type, EIN (tax ID), website URL, and address. Add an authorized representative (name, job position, email, and phone). These details are shared with Twilio and US carriers for the brand registration. For Express setup, also upload the headshot SAMI will use on your landing page.

  3. Complete the campaign details

Describe what messages you send, add two sample messages, explain how people consent (your message flow), and provide your privacy policy and terms URLs plus an opt-in confirmation message. In Express setup, SAMI pre-fills these to match your generated landing page.

  4. Submit for review

Choose Submit campaign for review. SAMI saves the campaign while your brand is still pending, then submits it automatically once the brand is approved.

The example text shown next to each field is for guidance only. Copying it verbatim can cause a rejection, so SAMI highlights leftover placeholder words and blocks submission until you replace them with your own wording.

Read brand and campaign status

The page shows a Brand status card (your business identity review) and a Campaign status card (your messaging use case review). Each moves through a predictable lifecycle:

  • Not started — You haven't begun registration yet.
  • Pending / In review — Twilio and carriers are reviewing. No action is needed.
  • Approved (brand) / Verified (campaign) — Registration is complete and your texts can use it.
  • Action required — Registration failed and needs a correction before it can be resubmitted.

When a registration fails, the page surfaces the Twilio rejection reason inline, often with a Click here to understand your rejection reason link. Open the affected form, fix the flagged detail, and choose Save and resubmit brand or resubmit the campaign. Status refreshes automatically while a review is in progress.

If a brand has used up its allowed self-service resubmissions, or a registration is suspended, SAMI tells you to contact support for a manual review rather than resubmitting again.
