Set up the public SAMI chat assistant
Turn on the SAMI chat widget so website visitors can search properties and start conversations that become leads.
SAMI can chat with visitors on your public website, answer their questions, and surface matching listings right inside the conversation. Turn it on and tailor the greeting from the AI Chat tab in your Website manager.
What the chat widget does
When Public SAMI Chat is on, a floating chat button appears in the bottom-right corner of your published site. A visitor taps it to open a panel labeled SAMI – AI Home Search Assistant.
From there, the conversation is open-ended. A visitor can describe what they want in plain language ("3-bed under $600k near downtown with a yard"), and SAMI replies conversationally. When the request maps to inventory, SAMI returns matching listings inline as tappable cards showing price, address, and beds, baths, and square footage. Each card links straight to that property's detail page.
The widget uses your website's primary color for its button and message bubbles, and every panel is marked "Powered by SAMI AI."
The chat widget only appears on a published website. If your site still shows a Draft badge, publish it first from the Website manager so visitors can see and use the assistant.
Turn on chat and set your greeting
Open the AI Chat tab
Go to your Website manager and select the AI Chat tab.
Enable Public SAMI Chat
Toggle Public SAMI Chat on. This is the AI-powered chat widget that lets website visitors search properties.
Write your greeting
In the Greeting Message field, enter the first message visitors see when they open the chat. The default is "Hi! I'm SAMI, your AI home search assistant. Tell me what you're looking for!"
Save your settings
Click Save settings. Open your live site with Preview to confirm the button appears and the greeting reads the way you want.
Tailor the greeting to your market. Name your area or specialty so the opener feels local — for example, "Hi! I'm SAMI. Ask me anything about Austin homes, schools, or neighborhoods." A specific greeting invites better questions and warmer conversations.
See chat activity in Analytics
Every time a visitor opens the widget and starts chatting, SAMI records a Chat Started event. You can track these alongside your other website metrics in Analytics to see how often the assistant is sparking conversations and which traffic turns into engagement.
Pair chat with your Registration settings on the Website manager so engaged visitors register, then watch those new contacts flow into Contacts and your Pipeline for follow-up.
