Moving deals through pipeline stages

Drag a deal card from one stage to the next on your Pipeline board to advance it, with changes saved automatically.

As a deal progresses, you move it forward by dragging its card from one stage column to the next on your Pipeline board. The change saves on its own and is recorded in the deal's activity, so your pipeline always reflects reality.

Drag a deal to a new stage

Your Pipeline board lays out every stage as a column, left to right. Each card shows the deal name, contact, sale price, and projected close date, with a grip handle in the top-right corner you can grab to drag.

  1. Open your Pipeline board

Head to Pipeline. Each column is a stage, and the cards inside it are your deals.

  2. Grab the deal card

Click and hold the card you want to move. It lifts and tilts slightly so you can see it's selected.

  3. Drop it on the new stage

Drag the card into the destination column and release. The target column highlights as you hover over it, so you always know where the deal will land.

  4. Let it save

The board updates instantly and the new stage is saved in the background — there's no separate save button to press.

Moving a card between columns changes the deal's stage (where it sits in the process), not its status (Open, Won, Lost, or Abandoned). To mark an outcome, use the status pill on the card instead.

What happens when you move a deal

Every stage change is logged. Open a deal from its card and you'll see a Deal stage changed entry in the Activity section, with the time it happened — handy for tracking how long a deal sat in each stage.

The deal detail page also shows a Pipeline Progress bar near the top. Every stage in the pipeline appears in order, and each one up to and including the deal's current stage is highlighted, so you can see at a glance how far along the deal is.

If a move doesn't stick — for example your connection drops mid-drag — the board reverts the card to its original column so your Pipeline never shows a stage that wasn't actually saved.

Read your column totals

Each column header carries two numbers worth watching:

  • A count badge showing how many deals sit in that stage.
  • A rolled-up total of the sale prices for every deal in the column, so you can size up the value waiting at each step of your process.

As you drag deals between columns, both numbers recalculate immediately. To dig into trends across your whole pipeline over time, head to Analytics. If the stages themselves don't match how you work, an admin can rename or reorder them in Settings.
