Finding anything fast with global search
Use global search to jump straight to any contact, deal, or property from anywhere in SAMI OS.
When you already know who or what you're looking for, global search is the fastest way to get there. It lives in the header on every screen, so you never have to click through menus to open a record.
Open search from anywhere
The search bar sits in the top header next to the main navigation. You can open it two ways:
Click the search bar
Select the Search… field in the header from any page, including your Dashboard.
Or use the keyboard shortcut
Press ⌘K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows. The shortcut works no matter which screen you're on, and pressing it again (or Esc) closes search.
Type at least two characters
Start typing a name, deal, address, or phone number. Results appear as soon as you've entered two or more characters.
Learn the ⌘K / Ctrl+K shortcut and you can jump to any record in seconds without ever reaching for the mouse.
Jump to the right record
Search looks across three kinds of records at once and groups the matches so you can scan them quickly:
- Contacts — matched by name, email, or phone number, with their current stage shown as a badge.
- Deals — your Pipeline opportunities, matched by deal name and labeled with their stage.
- Properties — matched by address, with the city and status listed underneath.
Click any result to open it. Contacts open in Contacts, deals open in your Pipeline, and properties open in Properties.
Navigate results with the keyboard
Once you've typed a query, you can stay on the keyboard to pick a result:
- Press ↓ and ↑ to move down and up through the list.
- Press Enter to open the highlighted result.
- Press Esc to close search and clear what you typed.
