Build a bot with the SAMI guided interview

Answer SAMI's questions in a guided, multi-phase interview and watch your SAMI Bot take shape in a live preview.

The guided interview is the fastest way to build a SAMI Bot. Instead of filling out a form, you chat with SAMI in a side panel, answer a few questions, and your bot is assembled for you as you go.

How the guided build works

Start a new build from Build a SAMI Bot. When the page opens, the SAMI chat panel slides in on the side and a Live preview pane fills the rest of the screen. SAMI asks you questions in the chat; the preview updates to show your bot's configuration as it comes together.

The build is split into seven phases, shown in a progress bar across the top:

  • Identity – your bot's name, your company, and what your business does.
  • Outbound setup – how the bot calls new leads and handles inbound callbacks.
  • Lead sources and category – where leads come from and whether this bot is for buyers, sellers, or a custom flow.
  • Qualification – the questions the bot asks to qualify each lead.
  • Outcomes – what the bot says and tags at the end of a call.
  • Post-call actions – side actions like creating a task or notifying you when an outcome fires.
  • Cadence and templates – the follow-up rhythm and the SMS and voicemail copy it uses.

Each SAMI Bot is built for one lead category and works as an outbound sales agent that also fields inbound callbacks from those same leads.

The progress bar only advances when SAMI finishes ("commits") a phase. If a phase still looks empty in the preview, keep answering SAMI's questions in the chat until that section fills in.

Run the interview

  1. Open the guided build

    Go to Build a SAMI Bot. The chat panel opens on its own and the Live preview pane appears beside it.

  2. Answer SAMI's questions

    Reply to SAMI in the chat. Start with your bot's name and company, then move through lead sources, qualification questions, and call outcomes as SAMI prompts you.

  3. Watch the preview fill in

    As each phase is committed, the progress bar advances and the preview refreshes to reflect what SAMI just set up. You can review the bot taking shape without leaving the chat.

  4. Finish the build

    When the final phase wraps, SAMI summarizes your bot and sends you to its editor at SAMI Bots to fine-tune the details and publish.

Pick up where you left off

You don't have to finish in one sitting. SAMI saves your bot as a draft after every committed phase, so your progress is never lost.

When you return to Build a SAMI Bot with an unfinished draft, a resume banner appears at the top showing your bot's name and how many of the seven phases are done. Continue chatting with SAMI to keep building, or dismiss the banner if you'd rather start fresh.

Finishing the final phase drops you into the bot's editor, where you can adjust qualification questions, outcomes, and follow-up copy before you publish. Nothing goes live until you publish it from SAMI Bots.
