Manage bot versions and roll back
Review your SAMI Bot's publish history and roll back to an earlier published snapshot in a couple of clicks.
Every time you publish a SAMI Bot, SAMI saves a snapshot of its configuration. The Versions view lets you see that history and restore an earlier published version whenever a change doesn't work out.
How versions are created
Each time you click Publish on the Review tab, SAMI captures the bot's current setup as a numbered version. There's nothing extra to turn on — version history builds itself as you publish.
Every version row records:
- Version — a sequential number like
v1,v2,v3. - Published — the date and time the snapshot was created.
- By — who published it.
- Notes — any notes saved with that publish.
Open any of your bots from SAMI Bots to start working with its versions.
Review the version history
Open the bot editor
From SAMI Bots, click the bot you want to inspect to open its editor.
Switch to the Versions view
In the editor header, click Versions (the clock icon). The editor swaps to the version history table.
Read the history table
Each row is one published snapshot, newest at the top. Scan the Published, By, and Notes columns to find the version you're after.
Return to editing
Click Back to editor in the header any time to leave the Versions view and continue editing.
The row marked Current is the version your bot is running live right now. Its action button reads "Current" and can't be selected — there's nothing to roll back to on the version you're already on.
Roll back to a previous version
When a recent change isn't behaving the way you expected, you can restore an earlier published snapshot.
Find the version to restore
In the Versions view, locate the row for the snapshot you want to return to.
Click Rollback
Click Rollback on that row. SAMI restores the bot to that published snapshot.
Confirm the restore
The button shows "Rolling back…" while it works, then a confirmation appears once your bot is back on the selected version.
If you have unsaved edits in the editor, rolling back will replace them. SAMI shows a Replace unsaved edits? prompt first — choose Roll back to discard your in-progress changes and restore the snapshot, or cancel to keep editing.
Rollback restores the bot to the selected published snapshot without adding a new version row to the table, so your history stays clean. If you later want to capture the restored setup as its own version, make any edit and click Publish again from the Review tab.
