Building dashboards by chatting with SAMI
Describe the metrics you want in plain language and SAMI builds or edits a saved dashboard for you to approve.
You don't need to configure charts by hand. On your home dashboard, you describe the metrics you want in plain language and SAMI builds or edits a saved dashboard for you.
Describe the dashboard you want
The chat box at the top of the home dashboard is your dashboard builder. Type what you want to see — "add a chart for won/lost trends", "compare this month to last month", "show stale opportunities in an object list", or "add a follow-up work queue" — and SAMI turns it into widgets on a saved dashboard.
If you're not sure where to start, use the suggested prompt chips below the box: Add a chart for won/lost trends, Compare this month to last month, and Show stale opportunities. Tapping a chip drops that text into the box so you can send it as-is or edit it first.
Open your home dashboard
Head to the home dashboard. The builder chat box sits at the top, above your current widgets.
Describe the metric or chart
Type a request in plain language, like "add a bar chart of appointments by source this month," or tap a suggested prompt chip to start from an example.
Send it to SAMI
Submit your message. SAMI opens full screen, reads your request against your Pipeline, contacts, tasks, and activity, and assembles the matching widgets.
Review the preview
SAMI shows a preview of the dashboard it built or edited. Check the widgets, time range, and any comparison before you accept.
Approve to save
Approve the preview and SAMI saves it. Your updated dashboard appears under the builder, ready to use and re-edit anytime.
SAMI builds on whichever dashboard is currently selected. To start fresh or edit a different one, pick it from the Dashboard menu in the controls bar, then describe your change.
Refine and switch dashboards
Editing works the same way as building. With a dashboard open, ask for a change — "remove the leaderboard," "switch this to last quarter," or "add speed-to-lead next to my call totals" — and SAMI updates the saved dashboard after you approve the new preview.
The controls bar under the chat box lets you adjust a saved dashboard without typing. Use Time range to switch between options like Today, This month, Last month, or This quarter, and Compare to line the period up against the previous period, the same period last month, or the same period last year. All time has no previous period, so comparison turns off there.
How this differs from AI Chat
The builder chat is focused on one job: creating and editing dashboards. It's the fastest way to shape what you see on the home screen.
For everything else — answering questions about a specific lead, drafting a follow-up, or pulling a one-off number — use the general assistant in AI Chat. Both surfaces share the same SAMI brain, so you'll get consistent answers; the dashboard builder simply turns those answers into saved widgets instead of a chat reply.
Sending a message from the builder opens SAMI full screen so you can watch it work and review the result. Voice and file attachments compose your request in place — only sending launches the full-screen build.
