Associate related contacts
Link contacts together with a relationship label like spouse or co-buyer, and see their activity on the timeline.
Real deals rarely involve one person. Link a buyer to their spouse, a seller to their attorney, or a lead to the person who referred them so you always see the full picture in one place.
Add an associated contact
Associations live in the Associated Contacts section on a contact's detail page in Contacts. Each link carries a relationship label that describes how the two people are connected.
Open the contact
From Contacts, open the person you want to link to someone else.
Start a new association
In the Associated Contacts section, click the plus (
+) button to open the add form.Search for the other contact
Type at least two characters into Search contacts and pick the right person from the results. You won't see the current contact or anyone already linked.
Choose a relationship label
Tap a suggestion such as Spouse, Partner, Co-buyer, Co-seller, Family Member, Referrer, Colleague, or Other, or type your own label in Relationship label. The label is required. Add optional notes if you want more context.
Save the link
Click Add Association. The linked person now appears in the section, and the association is created in both directions automatically.
A contact can't be associated with itself, every link needs a relationship label, and labels are capped at 100 characters. Each pair of contacts can only be linked once.
See related activity on the timeline
Once two contacts are linked, activity from the associated person can surface on the contact's timeline. These entries carry a small source-contact label showing whose record the activity came from and the relationship type (for example, "Jordan Lee · Spouse"), so shared context is never split across two screens. Learn more in Log activity and use the timeline.
Edit or remove a relationship
Plans change, and so do labels. You can fix a relationship type or unlink people at any time.
Find the association
Open the contact and scroll to Associated Contacts.
Edit the label or notes
Click the pencil icon on the linked contact, update the relationship label or notes, then click the check to save.
Remove the link
Click the trash icon to unlink the two contacts. This removes the association only; neither contact record is deleted.
Link several contacts at once
When you have a household or a group that all belong together, you don't have to link them one by one. Select multiple people in the contacts list, choose the associate action, and enter one relationship label. SAMI OS links every selected contact to each other with that label and skips any pairs that are already connected.
Keep labels consistent (for example, always "Co-buyer" rather than mixing in "Cobuyer") so associations read cleanly across every household.
