Building a workflow with SAMI in chat

Have SAMI build, validate, and publish an automated outreach or routing workflow from a plain-English chat.

You can describe the follow-up you want in plain English, and SAMI will build the whole workflow for you — texts, AI calls, and waits that respect business hours. SAMI assembles every step, checks its own work, and asks before anything goes live.

What SAMI can build

Tell SAMI the outcome you're after and it drafts a complete automation. A typical ask is a buyer or seller outreach cadence that mixes channels over time:

  • SMS messages sent from your SAMI Bot over a proven cadence.
  • AI phone calls placed by the bot at the right moment in the sequence.
  • Emails from a connected account, if you want email in the mix.
  • Waits between touchpoints that respect business hours and your outreach window, so nothing fires at 2 a.m.

You can also ask for a lead-routing flow — for example, tag and assign new leads to the right agent as they come in. Everything SAMI builds lands as a draft in Workflows for you to review.

Have SAMI build it in chat

  1. Describe what you want

Open SAMI Chat and describe the cadence in your own words — for example, "build a 3-month seller outreach that texts and calls until they reply." Mention buyer vs. seller and how long the sequence should run.

  2. Answer SAMI's plain-English questions

SAMI asks business questions, not technical ones: which lead sources are buyers versus sellers, which agents' leads to include, and which channels to use. Answer in plain language — SAMI maps your answers to the right settings.

  3. Let SAMI build and validate

SAMI creates the full workflow, then runs its built-in validation to confirm every step has what it needs and the steps connect end to end. It won't move forward until validation passes.

  4. Review the summary

SAMI summarizes the steps it built — the channels, the order, and the timing of each touchpoint — so you can sanity-check the plan before it's live.

  5. Approve to publish

Say the word and SAMI publishes the workflow. Until you approve, it stays a draft you can find in Workflows.

Publishing turns a workflow on, but it does not enroll anyone by itself. Contacts only enter once a trigger fires or you enroll them. See starting and stopping SAMI outreach for how to enroll and pause.

How SAMI keeps it safe

SAMI follows a strict build → validate → publish path. It validates before asking to publish, and it won't publish while any issue remains. Validation catches missing pieces — a text with no message, an email with no connected account, a workflow with no trigger — so a broken cadence never goes live.

Want email touchpoints? Connect an email account first so SAMI has an account to send from. SMS and AI calls run through your SAMI Bot, so make sure a bot with a phone number is set up in SAMI Bots.

If you'd rather adjust a step yourself after SAMI builds it, open the workflow in Workflows and edit any message, wait, or call directly.
